I listened to the album, "Awaken, My Love!" by Childish Gambino and I automatically thought that it was dedicated to Gambino's children. Songs like "Me and Your Mama" or "Baby Boy" felt like stories he was telling to his child. So, when I heard the song "Boogeyman", I automatically thought that he was saying that if anyone brings harms to his children, he'd crawl out into the night after them.
