Heavily inspired by my FEELINGS in COLOR Project. The color BROWN represents love. Love isn’t always romantic in the sense that it’s sexual. Love is intimate. It’s me laughing because I hear my father's booming laughter from another room. It’s my mother’s hands in my hair. It’s listening to my siblings tell me about their day. Love is sharing space with the people that will always make space for you at the dinner table. Love is those same people feeling your absence when you’re gone. Love CAN be romantic.
 
Don’t get me wrong. We all deserve companionship. And that feels like sharing your most vulnerable self with someone else. Letting someone see you as less than perfect and having them still want to kiss your hand and hold you as you sleep. Love is twisting your lover's hair. It’s working together to make it work. It’s knowing that someone else is walking right beside you. Romantic love takes authenticity and effort. It’s knowing that there are plenty of fish, but that fish with the gimpy fin is mine. I hope we all get to feel a BROWN love one day. I really and truly do.
